Guillaume de Villiers (Guitarist/Vocalist)
Guillaume
spends his time with an eye on elevating the South African music
industry as best he can. Being a well accomplished guitarist, Guillaume
is very active with the education of aspiring young musicians in
teaching them the
instrument that caught his attention at a young
age. As well as teaching at the legendary Jazz Workshop music school in
Cape Town, Guillaume has set up an independent sound studio to help
create an affordable recording platform for
musicians from across
the globe. Guillaume has performed at countless venues and festivals
around South Africa and has shared the stage with many national and
international greats. As the founder and owner of Abbott Audio,
Guillaume is a
talented music producer and recording engineer who
collaborates with different musicians from around the world on a
regular basis in a quest to understand as many facets of the music
industry as possible. In 2009 Guillaume decided it was
time to
showcase some of the ideas he had developed over the years and formed
The Abbott Network as an outlet to the public. After a significant
search for the right members and many auditions later Guillaume found
the group of people that
form part of the band today.
Desley Meyer (Bassist)
Desley
is a well accomplished bass player who has featured on many South
African albums and performed at many venues and festivals around the
country. Desley has a strong rhythmical and melodic touch that comes
across in his
playing. With a gospel background, Desley’s
performance is very groove orientated and he is the perfect pillar to
keep a rhythm section together and moving. Desley’s studies in Jazz
furthered his ability to stand out as one of S.A’s finest bass players.
Desley impresses audiences at every live show and always has a group of
followers hanging around studying his technique. Desley is the perfect
example of what a bass player should be with his rock solid rhythm and
versatile melodic contribution. Desley is one of those musical gems
that inspire other artists and The Abbott Network is proud to have him
as part of the band’s rhythm section.
Texito Langa (Drummer)
international music school. With out even one drum lesson, Texito got placed as the drummer for his new school band “Os Passaros da Musica”. Since then Texito’s music career has been more than fruitful. His rock steady rhythm and
creative flair has lead him to perform alongside many great musicians such as Moses Molelekwa and Gito Baloi. He has featured on many national and international albums as well as performing for various audiences around the world.
Texito’s versatility knows no boundaries and he has done a remarkable amount of work covering many genres.

Judite Strydom (Vocalist)
Judite has been singing since the tender age of 13. Since then Judite has gained a significant amount of experience in multiple facets of the entertainment industry. Having spent many years on South Africa’s renowned Garden Route music scene, Judite captivated audiences singing in numerous funk, jazz, contemporary, fusion and lounge ensembles. In 2005 Judite moved to the Free State where she continued her versatile music career in rock and cabaret. Judite's soulful and
melodic appeal has secured her many slots on stages across the country as well as performing with some of S.A’s top artists. She has recorded at many studios around S.A and is high in demand as a voice over and vocal artist. Judite’s
versatility knows no bounds and she will continue to amaze audiences as long as she continues to perform.
Bronwen Clacherty (Percussionist/Vibraphonist)
Bronwen graduated from UCT music department in 2009 after completing her studies in Jazz. Bronwen’s hard working nature has lead her to become the well accomplished musician she is today. Bronwen’s range is very versatile having
done many performances in Jazz, African, Latin and Pop. She has performed with artists such as Bheki Khoza as well as Frank Biyong and Massak. Bronwen is also very active with her involvement in big bands such as the UCT Big Band and the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra. Bronwen is the youngest member of The Abbott Network, but shows a lot of talent. Bronwen’s tremendous dedication to her instruments is what will secure this gifted young lady a promising career in the music industry.
Jason Helman (Keyboardist)
At age 15 Jason started his first band in his home town Bloemfontein. Later playing drums for the Noel Stockton Junior Big Band at age 17, Jason went on to study piano and harmony with Noel Stockton. Jason then moved to Cape Town to enroll in the B.Mus Jazz program at the UCT College of Music. At UCT Jason met up with bass player and composer Musa Manzini who soon introduced master pianist, arranger and composer Nhlanhla Magagula. Nhlanhla become a major influence and teacher to Jason’s journey into music. The three started the Nhlanhla Magagula Trio performing at various venues and private functions around Cape Town. When Magagula left for Johannesburg, Jason started a new band Bluezone and toured to Windhoek in Namibia. The Magagula Trio later reunited with Peter Ndlala on bass. In 2008 after the passing of Nhlanhla, Jason started playing piano predominately and performed with many freelance Jazz musicians. Now the pianist for The Abbott Network, he warms the sound with luscious Jazz tonalities and African flavored rhythms.
